It’s true that typically one wouldn’t want algae in a formulation, but this additive is definitely not in the same category. Algae oil has been shown to be effective in the life long battle of fighting the appearance of aging.
Algae oil holds high concentrations of Omega-3 fatty acids which help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crows feet around the eyes. It also holds de-pigmentation properties, which help to smooth out skin discoloring. When used in facial oils, it helps to clean and balance the skin.
This oil is extracted using a distillation process, and though it holds a deep reddish orange tone, it is highly refined to make it “cosmetic safe.” Guaranteed to hold 40% docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
