Description

Just as it sounds, this product is pure, 100% caffeine! Its technically called caffeine “crystals” but it’s really a fine powder, which breaks down easily into any water-based liquid.

Caffeine applied topically can make a wonderful “anti-puffiness” eye cream. It also tones and tightens the skin, smoothing out fine lines and small wrinkles. The only catch with caffeine additives: it’s like most topical ingredient in that it isn’t a permanent fix. “Dang!” Right? But, just because the benefits don’t last forever, it doesn’t mean it should be overlooked. For cellulite wraps, and mud rubs, etc. you will see a difference after each application.

Also remember that caffeine will be absorbed through the skin layers, so marketing your caffeine lotion (for instance) as a temporary skin toner will also give the applier a caffeine buzz — so make sure you mark your product well for those who are caffeine sensitive. Follow suggested guidelines below.

General Guidelines For Formulations:

1/16th teaspoon is approximately 250mg caffeine crystals. That equals out to be somewhere in the ballpark of drinking (3) 8oz. cups of coffee.

For cosmetic formulations, if you are not following a recipe that has ratios already worked out for you, consider the following:

Are you making an “all over” body lotion? If so, keep the ratio lower because the consumer with use more per application. If you are making a targeted facial cream, less product will be used – hence you could create your formulation with a higher potency.

For 1 gallon of body lotion, you could start with 1/2 oz. of caffeine crystals per gallon and see if you like the results. Decrease or increase based on product performance. For a more targeted product – double the amount of caffeine additive – and test for results. Increase / decrease as needed. Though caffeine is a food grade product, we are selling this only for topical use.
