Description
Gris Oscuro Kaolin Clay has been mined from non-contaminated ground, then dried naturally by open air and direct sunlight. It is then washed and heat-treated to make it skin safe, then milled down to a particle size of 44 microns for a smooth feeling consistency. There are no chemicals used during the processing of this clay.
Suitable for all skin types, but especially those with mature or sensitive skin.

To use our Gris Oscuro Kaolin Clay, simply add a wetting agent of your choice – keeping in mind your skin’s needs. If you have super dry skin, try adding a high-fat liquid (milk, cream, oil, etc.). If you have oily skin, try adding cucumber juice, lemon or lime juice, or even a tiny bit of cider vinegar mixed with water. Keep in mind that anything citric or vinegar around the eyes will burn if you have too high a concentration. For normal skin, you can simply use water or aloe vera juice.
Clays can also be used to naturally color homemade cosmetic products. Using this in bath bombs, melt & pour soaps, and other recipes, it will produce a nice ‘earthy brown’ hue as well as provide your finished product with an excellent texture & skin-softening properties.

Please note that naturally occurring clay cannot be “certified organic” in the USA. The term “organic” is reserved for items that are grown in a field under organic supervision. Our natural clays are 100% pure, but since it doesn’t meet the FDA’s requirement of being field-grown, it’s not certifiable. If it were possible, we would have this item marked as organic. It can, however, be sold as 100% natural.
