In my book Lime Essential Oil, Conventional tops! Use it to scent your summertime products, mix it with lemon, grapefruit, orange … whatever you do – it’s sure to please anyone who loves that citrus scent! This oil smells spot-on to a fresh-pressed lime because that’s exactly what it is.
The whole family of citrus fruits is cleansing and toning, and their scent also seems to “bloom” very well in bath products. This is probably why these scents are forever popular in liquid body washes to facial cleansers.
When selecting a lime oil, we always recommend looking for a cold-pressed version, as this one is because steam distilling limes (or any citrus fruit) will destroy many important components inside this family of oils. As with all citrus oils, lime is a photosensitizer. This means it can cause sun sensitivity. Keep ratios low or use in products that will not be directly worn in the sun.
As with all essential oils, dilute Lime Essential Oil, Conventional into carrier oils before applying them directly onto the skin. Keep oils away from eyes and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children. Stop using if there is any irritation. Research each oil well before using. Some oils cannot be used by those with certain health conditions.
