Used in drinkable tea formulations and topical skincare formulations – passionflowers have been used by past civilizations for a host of ailments from insomnia, pain relief, and muscle tension. For topical use, you can steep this cut and sifted herb in water (or oil) just like you would a tea, strain — and use the juice inside your recipes, or use immediately as a compress. Passionflowers are often used inside herbal formulations for hemorrhoids, burns, general pain, and skin inflammation.
This herb makes a great addition to tea blends designed as a sleep aid. Its also noted for its ability to lower blood pressure and calm anxiety.
