Description
This Wintergreen Essential Oil holds the very pleasant and “crisp” scent of wintergreen. Works well in massage creams and other “liniment” oils. When applied to the skin, it will impart that “cooling yet warming” sensation, similar to a store bought icy hot product. This oil can irritate the skin when improperly used (in high concentrations), so it’s best to keep this oil at a low percentage when used in beauty care products and follow recipes carefully. In bath formulations, this scent will “bloom” when it hits warm water, helping to open the nasal passageways.
I find this oil to have a very pleasing fragrance. In combination with spearmint, peppermint and possibly a dash of cinnamon or clove … it makes one refreshing bar of soap.
Wintergreen’s Benefits: Anti-inflammatory, astringent, diuretic, stimulant.
As with all essential oils, dilute Wintergreen Essential Oil into carrier oils before applying them directly onto the skin. Keep oils away from eyes and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children. Stop using if there is any irritation. Research each oil well before using. Some oils cannot be used by those with certain health conditions.
