Description
We steam our Calendula Hydrosol Water from certified organic Calendula officinalis flowers.
The beauty care industry uses all forms of calendula products. It is no wonder since calendula holds a variety of therapeutic benefits. As a facial toner, this flower helps stimulate the growth of collagen that our body naturally produces and loses over time. As our skin loses collagen, the appearance of wrinkles and lines is more profound. Calendula is also anti-bacterial and assistants with topical pain management of minor skin abrasions and small cuts. Try using Calendula Hydrosol Water as a spray, directly on your skin – or add to any beauty care recipe.

About Hydrosols:
Typically distillates are the bi-product of the essential oil business. They are often produced overseas and shipped to the U.S. in drums by cargo boat, then stored until ordered. We, however, steam our hydrosols in-house on our custom-built equipment. Because we are the direct manufacture, we have a unique production system that allows us to produce hydrosol waters daily. Therefore practically ensuring that your hydrosol water will be steamed just for your order!
Hydrosol waters work great in lotions, creams, bath preparations, or straight on the skin. They provide mild tonic and skin cleansing properties and are generally safe for all skin types. Thus we manufacture our waters with their therapeutic value to the skin in mind. We, however, do not market our waters as scent additives. Though, of course, all hydrosols will have a unique scent, but some will be significantly lighter than others due to the essential oil content that each herb holds.
If you are looking for a water-based scent additive for your formulation, I suggest checking out our Essential Water categories. We carry the duplicate scents for both hydrosol and EO waters. EO waters are designed to add a scent “throw” into your formulations, whereas hydrosol waters are designed more for their benefits to the skin. Their natural scent is an added bonus.
Preservative Option:
This product will arrive 100% preservative-free unless you select to add the optional preservative when ordering.
Hydrosol waters are fragile, so it is our opinion that all hydrosol waters be preserved as close to the manufacture date as possible. Because of this, if they become contaminated, mold and bacteria can lead to serious health risks. A well-researched preservative is better than the risks of using/selling non-preserved ingredients.
Shelf Life:
Without the preservative, hydrosols have a 3-month shelf life when stored in the refrigerator or chilled location. With the preservative option included, they should be used up within a year of the purchase or added to a formulation that will contain further preservatives.
About Linatural:
We preserve at 1%. If you would like the optional preservative added to your water, please first select “yes,” then choose the size of bottle you wish to order. If you would like to learn more about this preservative, Linatural
Organic Certification:
The USDA only certifies agricultural ingredients. If you select ‘yes’ to add Linatural to extend the shelf life, then this item can no longer be considered a certified organic ingredient. Thus it will arrive to you without the certification seals on the label.
