Lemon Verbena C/S possesses a powerful anti-itch / anti-bacterial punch for topical formulations. Science has proven this in a study performed in Iran where a solution containing a simple lemon verbena extract was shown to effectively treat skin infections caused by the staphylococcus aureus bacteria. As a spin-off study, this herb is now being researched for its apparent immune system boosting benefits and for its counteracting effects on joint pain (when taken as a dietary supplement).
To use Lemon Verbena C/S topically, simply steep in warm water or oil until the benefits of this herb have been released into your wetting agent, strain and discard the leaves. Use as a portion inside your formulation.
