The first known written reports on the nourishing juice of the aloe vera plant reach as far back as 6,000 years ago. It was then regarded as a sacred plant that produced a liquid that held secrets to beauty, health, and immortality. Not much has changed in our view of this incredible succulent in modern times. Aloe Vera Gel makes an excellent choice for practically any formulation because of its skin softening natural and anti-aging properties.
This version of aloe is comprised of a few different ingredients to give the juice a gel-like texture. Therefore any recipe that requires a thicker consistency may benefit from aloe vera juice. Please note that this product uses a USDA certified thickening agent for organic formulations. The thickener, sodium alginate, tends to thicken on its own. The viscosity of our aloe vera gel does have some body to it, but it’s still pourable. If at all worried about product compatibility, we recommend purchasing one of the smaller sizes for testing purposes.

Preservation:
This product will arrive 100% preservative-free unless you select the optional preservative when ordering.
It’s our opinion that this product should be preserved as close to the manufacture date as possible since water-based gels are easily compromised. If they become contaminated, mold and bacteria can lead to serious health risks. A well-researched preservative is better than the risks of using/selling non-preserved ingredients.

Shelf Life:
If you choose the non-preserved option, use the product immediately as it holds a short shelf-life. If you opt for the additional preservative, this product should be used within a formulation within 30 days of receiving or preserved further to retain a longer shelf life. We do not refund this item, due to the product being highly perishable.
