Comfrey Infused Oil has been used both externally and internally for at least 1,000 years. This herb has been said to be one of the most widely used herbs throughout history for healing purposes, though in modern times it is now recommended that comfrey NOT be taken internally nor applied to large areas of broken skin – it is still one of the most skin healing herbs in herbal medicine. One of the main components of comfrey is allantoin, which is a proven cell regenerator. This makes comfrey additives very attractive in boo-boo healing creams, or for facial applications dealing with anti-aging topicals.
We use a cold process infusion for our Comfrey Infused Oil; we never heat treat our oils. We infuse organic plant material into a first pressed, organic extra virgin olive oil. Because of the type of oil we infuse into, there is the typical (strong) scent that is associated with cold pressed olive oil – so please take that into consideration when ordering this product.
