Description
This sweetener is made from 100% dehydrated dates that have been ground into a coarse powder known as Date Sugar. Dates are considered healthy fruit as they are high in vitamins, tannins, flavonoids, fiber, and minerals. Since this sugar is not refined and is considered an unprocessed food, subbing this sugar for refined white sugar will pass these benefits into your baked goods.
Date sugar does not easily break down in aquatic (water) formulations, and of course, will not break down at all in oil-based recipes. This benefit makes it a great scrub alternative to some sugars that do tend to dissolve.
Flavor: Less sweet than other natural sweeteners and tastes like dates. Food grade.
