Description
Sunflower Seed Oil is a “light” oil which makes it a good choice for bath products (it will disperse in water a little better than some oils will), but it also tends to lay down a slightly oily, protective barrier on the skin. It contains high amounts of vitamin E which is a natural skin softener and antioxidant, and it is packed full at a ratio of 80% Oleic (monounsaturated) acid. There is also evidence that shows using this oil in sunscreen formulations will help boost the final SPF value of your product.
Many soapers substitute Sunflower Seed Oil for a portion of olive oil as a cost-effective alternative that lends your soap a nice stable, conditioning lather. Slow to trace in cold process soap recipes.
This version of sunflower oil is high in oleic acid. It has been expeller pressed, and minimally refined. Food Grade. Product of the USA.
