Used both externally and internally for at least 1,000 years – Comfrey Leaf C/S has been said to be one of the most widely used herbs throughout history for healing purposes, though in modern times it’s now recommended that comfrey NOT be taken internally – it is still one of the most skin healing herbs used in herbal medicine. If you are thinking of using this as an ingredient inside facial care products, the natural allantoin that this herb contains will be a strong benefit that is passed into your formulation. Allantoin helps with cell growth and cell regeneration processes.
I personally use this Comfrey Leaf C/S herb in all of my healing salve recipes for my horses, dogs, goats, and even my children! It also makes a great compress for the relief of poison oak itch and helps speed the recovery time. To use for poison oak, extract this herb in apple cider vinegar and apply it frequently.
