These pleasant-smelling dried Hibiscus Flowers can be used in beauty care recipes as a natural colorant. Simply infuse them in a small amount of hot water (or very warm oil), and allow to steep. Discard the flowers and use the ‘juice’ as a replacement for some of the water, or oil content within your recipe. They will produce a beautiful shade of pinkish red.
Hibiscus contains nearly 30% plant acids and it’s this acid content that provides that yummy tart taste when used as a drinkable tea. However, the topical benefit is also quite amazing, as this acid is very anti-inflammatory as well as skin toning. Hence why hibiscus extracts are often used in facial serums and toners.
Internal use of this product as a tea has shown that it raises “good cholesterol” levels, helps with weight loss, and has blood pressure related benefits as well.
These Hibiscus Flowers are food grade quality, so you can use them in homemade tea blends. It is said that people with gallbladder issues should refrain from taking this internally.
Allergen: Hibiscus flowers may be intercropped with peanuts. This product may contain peanuts or shell fragments.
INCI: Hibiscus sabdariffa (hibiscus) flowers
